HKPEP Top 100 Global International Schools in Education Competitiveness 2023

Released

Educational Information Institute of Hong Kong Professional Education Press (HKPEP), today, announced the first global rankings of international schools — HKPEP Top 100 Global International Schools in Education Competitiveness 2023.

Based on the international common education indicators in UNESCO Statistical Yearbook, the evaluation panel adopted "Education Input - Process - Effectiveness" as the assessment structure (please visit www.hkpep.com for the details on assessment system, the description of 63 education indicators at level 1, level 2 and level 3, and how to process the evaluation data and calculate the ranking).

In the assessment, the Educational Information Institute of HKPEP collected the data of a total of more than 1500 schools around the world where students can study English, American and Canadian International courses and IB, and conducted a comprehensive comparative analysis and evaluation. Based on the evaluation system of HKPEP Top China International Schools in Education Competitiveness, the evaluation panel added the index of internationalization of schools in assessment system, which makes the world’s first rankings of international schools unique and valuable.

The top 100 international schools on the list are from 20 countries, of which 34 are American schools and 23 British schools. Chinese schools also performed well, with 21 schools (17 in the mainland and 4 in Hong Kong) on the list, including: Shenzhen College of International Education, Joint Program of The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, St. Paul's Co-educational College, Beijing National Day School, Wuhan Britain-China School, Shanghai American School(Puxi Campus), Ulink College of Shanghai, SDSZ International Department, Nanjing Foreign Language School International Department and so on. Other countries account for a small proportion, including 6 schools in Singapore, 2 schools in India and the United Arab Emirates respectively, and 1 school in Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Russia, Belgium, South Korea, Spain, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Germany and Monaco.

The rankings make a comprehensive evaluation of the schools with international courses in the world for the first time. However, the final score is not a judgment on the overall strength and weakness of each school. It will be its greatest value if all schools, especially excellent ones, can view the assessment with an open-minded and self-examination attitude. It is hoped that it will become a repository of shared digital resources with sustainable value, providing a reference guide for parents choosing schools and educators. The rankings are as follows:
